Vactor
trucks have always been an important part of the cleaning process of
almost all cities in the United States. Proof of this is the
Environmental Protection Agency’s continuous support in the
utilization of these vehicles to combat the amount of debris in city
sewers, wastewater, and sewage problems like overflows.
In
New York, Environmental Protection Commissioner Cas Holloway recently
unveiled two Vactor trucks that the Department of Environmental
Protection (DEP) placed into service immediately to start cleaning
the city's vast network of sewer lines. The trucks are expected to
increase the ability of the interceptors to direct flow to the city's
wastewater plants.
The
new Vactor trucks contain a powerful vacuum system that can extract
sediment and debris that has accumulated in sewers over the years,
reducing the system's ability to direct as much wastewater and
stormwater through the pipes as possible during wet weather. Coupled
with state-of-the-art sonar technology, DEP estimates that this
endeavor will help decrease Combined Sewer Overflows by up to 25
percent in some areas of the city where cleaning can produce the
greatest benefit.
NY’s
use of the Vactor trucks is replicated by the different local
government and industries across the states as these vehicles are a
vital asset in any location. If you plan to buy your own Vactor
Trucks for your company be sure that you always keep them in tiptop
shape. Only use the best quality Vactor truck parts to keep up
with demands of cleaning.
